Scott Erb, one of the TWP exhibitors, and his wife Donna Dufault teamed with publisher Domenic Mercurio to put out the glossy magazine dedicated to people who like to eat. Yes – all of us!

From their page on Facebook: “Our magazine and television show feature area chefs, restaurants, and recipes. The Foodies of New England magazine also covers wineries, breweries, and local farms. We also host Worcester’s Best Chef, an annual cooking competition for the most talented chefs in the region. Join us as we savor, indulge, and appreciate food and drink throughout New England.”

It’s a fun read, giving foodies just want they want: tips on places to go for great eats, as well as how to whip up some tasty treats at home. No advanced culinary degrees required to follow along, either. And, of course, with Scott and Donna working the cameras, you know it’s a good looking page turner, loaded with excellent photography.

The magazine is free, and found in a growing number of great places to eat.

New TWP featured photographers, and a new way to see them. The original concept of the TWP show involved using computer monitors. Well, that idea evolved into a show with six 52-inch TVs and a 9×12 foot projection screen.

Now we’re getting back to the roots, so to speak. In keeping with the core TWP concepts — namely digitally presented fine art photography that represents an artist’s specific project or style — this website will begin featuring more artists, and more work.

Check back to see who’s on display. And, of course, photographers are encouraged to check out the Submissions page for all the details there.

Even three months later, there is plenty of exciting buzz about the Things We Project show that lit up Worcester’s Sprinkler Factory. And for those of you who want a piece (or two or three) from the show as a permanent reminder of the fun, you should know that YES, you can indeed purchase some of the work presented!

You really missed.

It’s both the thrill and the agony of a one-night show. Those who were there share the excitement of being a part of a unique, fleeting moment. And those who missed it – well, in this case, it was a pretty big miss.

In the week since our Things We Project show, we’ve heard words like “amazing,” “stunning,” “surprising,” “beautiful,” “one-of-a-kind,” and, my favorite, “best,” to describe the gallery event.

Six photographers brought their A-list photos, and ProSystems brought a top-notch effort that transcended mere presentation. The production experts transformed the Sprinkler Factory gallery into an eye-popping space where colored lights washed the white walls and the photos jumped off a larger-than-life screen. In short, it was a show unlike any the area has seen before.

Approximately 400 people came out to the show, including Debi Friedlander and Steve Iadarola, who both took some great shots of the event, and both have been kind enough to share them. Niche Hospitality and Sweet both brought excellent culinary treats, and the Sleepless Knights provided the smooth jazz tunes to round out the perfect ambience.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who was there – the art fans, friends and family of the artists, Niche, Sweet, Sleepless Knights and, of course, ProSystems. The show’s success was a result of everyone who was there, so thank you very much – one and all!

This awesome photo was taken by our good friend and excellent photographer, Steve Iadarola, at the Things We Project one night only show. It shows all 6 photographers in front of the 9×12 screen where their images were projected all night long. This show was a stunning showcase of the use of digital displays showcasing some very fine photography work. We overheard comments like “Wow – I feel like I’m in a high end gallery in New York City!” and “This is so not what I expected- this is all digital — and it’s amazing!” and “This show blew my mind!” The best part I have heard so far is that a couple of the photographer artists have sold some work. Which is exactly what we were hoping for!

Thank you to all who attended making this night a truly amazing experience!

We greatly appreciate the Telegram, Worcester Magazine, Pulse, the Patriot Ledger and everyone else who has helped us spread the word about the show! All that’s left to say is “come on out and see it for yourself!”

What started out as a dream was in fact all about us. We dreamt of opening what became The Citizen Wine Bar and oozed creativity. We had so many ideas we couldn’t possibly fit them into the four walls at 139 Green Street. The response was overwhelming and we quickly used our energy to launch Worcester’s first authentic Spanish Tapas and Wine Bar. This time it was us who were overwhelmed! What were we thinking? Soon after the dust settled opportunity knocked once again. We now had the chance to join the eateries on Worcester’s Restaurant Row. Southwestern-Mexican-Tequila on Shrewsbury Street seemed so right to add to Worcester’s burgeoning restaurant portfolio. Next came The Citizen to add to Worcester’s changing downtown landscape. Wine, Cheese and Chocolate in a historical building smack dab next to the DCU and courthouse adds flavor to lunch, a pulse to after work and a treat throughout the night to Commercial Street. What started out as a dream has become a surreal reality! As we developed we went from opening a restaurant to launching a hospitality group. Along the way we have learned something very quickly, it is not about us, it is about you. The enjoyment we get from our guests experience has been far more satisfying than just the realization of a dream. Hospitality to our entire team, to our guests, our vendors and our community has become paramount. Though we are not the first group to operate in this model we believe it shapes our restaurants and gives them an identity and personality that is worth remembering.
